HATHA YOGA ASANA CLASS

The morning Asana class consists of traditional style Hatha Yoga. In the 200 hour Yoga teacher training course the students would start with basics and slowly build their practice from the first week through the last week.

The intensity gets deeper from intermediate to advanced levels of practice.
Through this course the practitioner will understand and explore the subtle aspects of asana practices like alignments with its variations, techniques and adjustment guidelines. Practitioners who aspire to become skilled Hatha Yoga Teacher, should know the safe-practice principles as well as various techniques of the same asanas.
ALIGNMENT AND ADJUSTMENTS

Adjustments is an integral part of asana teachings. Trainees are carefully taught about the do and don’t of hands-on adjustments along with its importance and impact with respect to them becoming good teachers.

Only once you start assisting and adjusting will you be able to understand the different body type and what alignment and adjustment techniques and modifications would be used to guide or correct.

LEARN TO TEACH​

Teaching is an art unto itself. Learning asanas and practicing them everyday doesn’t necessarily make you a good teacher. Who dares to teach must never ceases to learn.

A good teacher is first a good student. the 200-hour yoga teacher training course students learn to create asana sequencing along with the dos and don’t and modifications. Unifying the asana practices, sequencing lessons, cueing, tracking and documenting your skills, knowledge and experience that you gain both formally and informally is one of the essentials to become a better Hatha Yoga Asana Teacher.
YOGA ANATOMY​

Understanding the anatomy and physiology of the body is key for safe asana practice. Yoga asanas involve moving and stretching of the body as well as increasing blood flow within the body.

Knowledge of human anatomy and integrating this knowledge into practice will help in prevention of injuries during practice and also facilitate healing process for the ones seeking asanas as part of physiotherapy. When teaching and practicing asanas you must be able to safely adjust into or out of poses as and when necessary. As a yoga instructor you must asses your students prior to the class and be aware of any health issues or injuries they might have. A competent teacher will have enough knowledge to advise their students on modifications for a multitude of techniques that would help students with their healing process or yoga practice.
TEACH TO LEARN / BECOMING A TEACHER ​

A good teacher never ceases to learn. The more one practices the better teacher they become. During yoga teacher training course trainees learn to build their self practice which would help them evolve as a better teacher.

As early as the first week of training students will start teaching under the guidance of their teacher/guru. As they teach, they get more curious, which leads them to explore more and help enhance their knowledge on yoga practice and find the teacher within them.
LEARN & TEACH PRANAYAMA

Pranayama is the most crucial and integral part of yoga and the most underrated of them all. Breathing is something we humans take for granted.

During the 200-hour teacher training course you will learn the basic pranayama/breathing techniques and inculcate them in your daily practice that will help you teach others. The more you teach the better will be tour practice.
LEARN AND TEACH MEDITATION (DHYANA)​

You don’t practice meditation you practice the techniques to mediate and by doing so mediation happens to you.

During your 200-hour teacher training course you learn basic mediation techniques and practice them everyday. As you progress through the course and as your practice improves you start incorporating meditation in your daily life and become a teacher naturally. To sit and mediate for extended period of time you will need a strong body and practice of yoga asanas helps in developing a strong body.
YOGA PHILOSOPHY (DARSHANA)​

Philosophy is a fascinating subject but western philosophy or eastern esoteric philosophy or rather any kind of philosophy when presented in a dry fashion can seem to be very boring.

Patanjali Yoga sutras , Bhagawadgita or for that matter the shatdrashanas are very informative and life transforming. During the 200-hour teacher training course you learn yoga philosophy through fascinating stories that makes the students look forward to their philosophy classes and through these stories you learn to implement and incorporate it in your daily life. We often hear students say that its a transformative experience.
YOGA KRIYAS (CLEANSING TECHNIQUES)​

During your 200-hour teacher training course you will be introduced to the six cleansing technique.

Learn Jal neti, sutra neti techniques which would help with purification of nasopharyngeal tract and trataka which helps in enhancing your eyesight and focus of the mind.

ACCOMMODATION

At Yogasva we provide traditional-style accommodation congenial to the practice of yoga. Our utmost priority is the safety and well-being of students. All our accommodations (shared or private) are equipped with modern amenities like ensuite bathrooms, western toilets, 24*7 hot water as well as wifi facility and paid laundry service. Our rooms are hygienic, clean, well-maintained, and sanitized, with comfortable bedding. Consumption of alcohol, smoking and any meat is strictly prohibited.

At Yogasva we strongly believe the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam “The whole world is one family” and Eating together is one of the oldest and fundamentally unifying of human experiences . “food acts as a kind of social glue.” With food we make friends, court lovers, count our blessing , share stories, culture – a circular connection is made while eating together side by side.  Yes, we do encourage to eat in silence too. All in all its a joyful and satiating activity not just for the body but for the mind and soul as well.

The food provided in yoga teacher training programs is prepared keeping in mind the concept of using fresh and seasonal ingredients, trying to avoid processed food, additives or preservatives. The preparation, consumption and eating together can be all part of the learning, students can learn about Ayurveda based cooking , food selection, and the healing properties of different foods, as well as gaining insight into the connection between food and overall health and well-being.

Please be advised, our food is strictly vegetarian however students with special dietary needs like gluten or lactose intolerance or specific allergies can inform us in advance for us to provide their preferential diet.

CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT TIME

Students can check-in a day earlier to the commencement of the course and latest on the day of the commencement of the training. However, there is a nominal fee for students who choose to arrive early. The check-out time is set at 10:00 am on the day of the certification, which is the last day of the training or the next day. There is a nominal fee for students who choose to leave a day later. It’s important to note that it is not possible for students to stay after the training, as the staff will be preparing the facilities for the next group of students. Students arriving prior to the stipulated days or leaving post the stipulated days would have to pay for the number of (extra) days for accommodation and food.
